Black-Marmalade Studios was born in the fall of 2004 as a way for DeChazier P. Stokes-Johnson
to have a change of pace from the sometimes static life being an art director at a advertising
agency brings. Since then DeChazier has art directed, designed, & illustrated, for some of today's
top brands. He is a proud family man, art director, observer of creative culture, and entrepreneur,
in that order. He tries hard everyday to attain a healthy balance between them all even though
he knows pure balance is unattainable.
Besides continuing to art direct DeChazier is currently working hard on his creative observation
site the Marma Spot and as an editor for Yes Yes Yall.
